Oxford Investment Opportunity Network Ltd (OION Ltd) was established originally as The Oxfordshire Investment Opportunity Network in 1994 as one of the UK’s first business angel networks. Today, OION Ltd is part of Oxford Innovation and is one of the largest angel networks in the UK, focusing on technology companies from Oxford and across the country. We link carefully selected investment opportunities with investors through regular Showcase events. Most of the opportunities which present to the network qualify for either Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) or Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) tax relief. OION Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority - reference number 564525.
In January 2020, Oxford Angel Network (OAN), part of Oxford University’s commercialisation arm Oxford University Innovation (OUI), merged with OION Ltd combining operations to create one unified angel network for Oxford and beyond. This has allowed collaboration in the selection of companies to be invited to pitch at seven annual investor Showcase events. The merger of the two networks has provided both new and existing angels with the opportunity to invest in impactful new tech companies, both from the Oxford Cluster and the wider UK.
OION Ltd also operates Thames Valley Investment Network (TVIN) and Oxford Early Investments (OEI). Investment opportunities from these two angel networks are incorporated in to the OION Ltd Showcase events.
OION Ltd is part of Oxford Innovation and as a result can access a wide range of complimentary services to growth focused businesses. These services include Oxford Innovation's nationwide network of innovation centres and a comprehensive network of business advisers as a result of delivering a number of business support programmes.
